Library
History
Envisioning a place where students could find books leisurely, the UCSB SIRRC library begins with a few donation boxes. Located virtually in the middle of campus, it cuts costs and time on textbook searching and purchasing. Then, the book collection expanded after reaching out to various dormitories. Now, the library hosts an assortment of college readers, textbooks, novels, and reference books.
Visiting Students
- Drop-off boxes recycle the accumulation of unwanted college (or other) books at the end of every quarter. Find a box at a dormitory during dead week.
- With the volunteer work of SIRRC members, the library reached a completion at the end of Fall Quarter, 2010. Now, every UCSB student can volunteer with anything underlined on this page. Just ask a SIRRC member or officer for more info.
- To borrow a book, come in during SIRRC executive office hours. Turn in a minimal $5 deposit upon finishing your selection. A sign-in sheet will be provided during check-in and check-out.
- To donate a book, a box will be located inside the building for easy drop-off.
- Return books at the end of the quarter the books are borrowed from.
- Most of all, enjoy the books.
